I am an accomplished events manager with ten years experience in the planning and delivery of online and in-person events for up to 800 delegates. I've worked as Events & Engagement Manager at mySociety, Membership & Events Manager at Music Mark and as Events Coordinator/ Secretary for the British Flute Society.
I've been organising performances and running workshops for musicians since 2013, having previously assisted with events such as conferences at the University of Sheffield. I relish all aspects of planning an event - finding the right venue, presenters, equipment and activities - and paying attention to all the details such as facilities, resources and providing good tea and cake! I'm happy negotiating contracts with venues and presenters/ performers/ traders, presenting and running activities, managing front-of-house and backstage, and tidying up and stacking up chairs at the end of the day. My aim is to run events where everyone involved quickly feels welcome and at ease, and leaves feeling positive and inspired.

In recent years, I have run a series of events for musicians in Sheffield, fundraising events for local charities, and the British Flute Society competitions in London. In 2021-22, I was Membership & Events Manager at music education charity Music Mark, leading on the development and delivery of around 50 online and 10 in-person/ hybrid events per year. In 2022-23, I was responsible for events at mySociety, from team meetings to conferences, but with a particular focus on the TICTeC Labs programme and developing events with the Climate team. I've provided freelance event management for other online events from booking and advertising to hosting on the day.
